Here’s another great idea for a collection that you could mount on your wall to create a modern, formal effect.  These are 19th Century architectural fragments that would have graced the corner of a building’s wall.

With spring in the air, my thoughts start turning to gardening.  I found these fabulous hand-carved marble garden dogs that would dress up any garden–whether in the city or the country.  They’re from the Hudson River Valley, circa 1880s.

I love taking functional objects and turning them into artwork. This antique printer drawer is a perfect example.  I’d collect several and mount them together on a wall to create a look that straddles antique and modern.
These tend to be really affordable.  You can find several at Antique Mystique.

What a great collection of Shaker lap-jointed pantry boxes!  I’d stack them exactly like this for a prominent display.  The colors work together beautifully.

This is a really wonderful antique sawbuck table. It measures 5 feet 2 inches long, 28-1/2 inches high and 25 inches wide.  It has such a great aged look and feel, yet remains modern in its simplicity.
Check it out at Curry’s Antiques.

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m always looking for interesting andirons.  These 20th Century aged wrought iron andirons are really beautiful. The pair features various scroll and twisted elements that you don’t often see.
